SECTOR EXPERIENCE — SPECTACULAR, STUNT & SOCIAL
Sometimes, the Best Way for a Brand to Communicate is to Get the Everyone Talking.
Whether the brand is a household name or newcomer with no budget, sometimes the what the ad budget calls for isn't an ad.

Shutterstock didn't have a whole ton of money to spend. We set out looking for ways to hijack culture. The perfect opportunity arose when our team was all talking about "which Fyre documentary should I watch?"
From there, it became a whole thing. What could we make with cheap stuff to insert ourselves into conversations? We made stuff to mark the Moon Landing Anniversary, a Game of Thrones new season, and a whole lot more. The work garnered 10s of millions of true organic social views with very little paid sponsorship.
Chef's Cut
We were working DIRECTLY with the Chef's Cut Brand, and had developed their "Take the Chef With You" tag and platform, that simply tied "chef-level" to "portability" in a crowded protein market. And then they called us and said, "We got Big Papi!" Yes, from the Red Sox. And we said, "great! What can we spend to get him out there?" And they said, "Nothing! We spent all our money getting him!" So, we partnered with some YouTube Creators. And FINALLY, the Japanese news (among others) started talking about our work.
This went so well, we enlisted Olivia Munn to be the first Jerky Sommelier.
Dos Equis
Back when Paul was the longest running lead writer + creative director on Dos Equis, he was charged with taking the brand beyond TV, radio and Print. Yes, we continued to win lots of shiny objects and get quoted by sitting presidents for our writing. But we also experimented with interactive video and VR.
The above got us tons of tech press and write-ups in the Wall Street Journal, amongst other places.
And when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When life gives you a painted wall, you make ANYTHING but just a…painted wall.
CVC
An ex-client called to tell us she had breast cancer. Tears in her eyes, she told us she had gone searching for any way she could HELP other women - and found an ex-Today's Show correspondent starting a coalition to get breast cancer vaccine research started in America.
We said, "we'll help in any way we can." They said, "we need help raising money, but we have no money." We said, "but we have Zoom, right?" We created MANY of these videos for the cost of editing and intereviewing - which we absorbed. We just let people tell their story, all aiming towards our tagline: Give Us a Shot. During the interviews, people cried, revealed fears, and told us what they REALLY wanted a shot at.
These only ran in two places: Organic social, and meeting rooms with investors. CVC got enough attention and raised enough money to merge with a larger organization aiming to get breast cancer vaccines to the US, and we got to meet some awesome people. Win win.
